The End of an Era: 20 Years, One Final Whistle

Since 2005, the AFC DONScast has been a constant companion for the Red Army. We’ve shared the mic through freezing winter afternoons at Pittodrie, the nerve-wracking away days, and the unforgettable euphoria of 2014. Today, we press stop for the last time.

In our final episode, we wrap up a difficult 2025/26 campaign that saw the Dons finish in 9th place following a last-minute 3-2 defeat to Dundee. But as one chapter closes, Stephen Robinson is already busy writing the next. We dive into the massive summer rebuild, including the surprising contract offers for academy graduates Alfie Stewart and Alfie Bavidge, and the news that captain Graeme Shinnie has been offered a transition into coaching.

We also look at the future of the Youth Academy, the latest transfer rumours linking us with Liverpool’s Trey Nyoni, and a resilient performance from Aberdeen Women as they head into their promotion/relegation play-off.

To every person who ever downloaded an episode, joined the debate on our socials, or chatted with us at the game… thank you. You didn’t just listen to the DONScast; you made it.
