Recap

One league win in seven, six points from twenty-one and the Dons nine game unbeaten away run came to a stuttering end at Tynecastle this afternoon.

Aberdeen made two changes to the side that faced Livingston at Pittodrie.  Andrew Considine replaced Michael Devlin and Greg Stewart made a start in place of Stevie May.

We were only 16 minutes into the game, when the Dons took the lead.  Sam Cosgrove headed a Niall McGinn corner just inside the box which rebounded off the crossbar for Connor McLennan headed in from close range.

Graeme Shinnie then hit a powerful shot shortly after, with a 25 yard drive that flew just inches wide of the Hearts goal.

The Dons continued to push for that elusive second goal, with a lot of the possession in the first half.  Connor McLennan blasted an effort over the bar, with Sam Cosgrove coming close in the 42nd minute after his header was punched over the crossbar by Zlamal for a corner.

Just moments later Graeme Shinnie pushed up midfield before unleashing an excellent 25 yarder that Zlamal blocked.

Whilst the first half was all Dons, the second half wasn’t.  Hearts came out of the blocks all guns firing and it didn’t take long until they went level after Lewis Ferguson downed Jake Mulraney in the box.  John Beaton awarded the penalty which Sean Clare scored from the spot making it all-square.

Hearts continued to put pressure on the Dons and went ahead in the 76th minute after a long ball was not dealt with by Andy Considine who slipped and Uche Ikpeazu picked out the ball and curled it beyond Lewis.

Soon after, there was a bit of handbags that saw four yellow cards awarded after a clash between Dom Ball and Sean Clare.  Dom Ball, Lewis Ferguson, John Souttar and Arnaud Djoum all got cards.

Hearts continued to pile on the pressure and fought to the end to come out winners in this fiery match.

It was a woeful second half capitulation that sees the Dons drop to fourth in the Scottish Premiership.
