Recap

The Dons failed to score a goal for the second time in a week, as they ended their away match, at the third time of asking, against Livingston 0-0.

It was another frustrating afternoon, but we couldn’t convert any of our chances against an on-form Livingston side who go thirteen matches unbeaten.

Derek McInnes made two changes to the side that faced St Johnstone midweek.

Sam Cosgrove was in Birmingham to complete his £2m move to Birmingham City, and Scott Wright was dropped to the bench.

Greg Leigh and Connor McLennan came into the starting line-up.

With two minutes of the match on the clock, Efe Ambrose had an attempt at goal with an overhead kick from the edge of the penalty area that went wide.

Julien Serrano had his goal disallowed for offside in the fifteenth minute – he was played in on goal  by Scott Pittman, but the assistant ref raised his flag for offside, as he rolled the ball through the legs of Joe Lewis.

Shortly after, Aberdeen were denied an opener.  Connor McLennan’s header came off the underside of the crossbar.

Hayes wasted a chance, after picking up a Matty Kennedy cross, he had the space for an effort but put the shot over the goal.

Joe Lewis had a good save, managing to save a close shot from Scott Pittman off the goal-line near the bottom right corner of goal.

Tommie Hoban had an effort after picking up a punched out save from Livi keeper Max Stryjek – but his shot flew wide of goal.

Scott Robinson had the opening effort of the second half, jumping above Ash Taylor for a header at goal, which went wide.

Ross McCrorie was denied in the 60th minute, after picking up a short pass from Ryan Hedges – his shot was saved by Stryjek.

Matty Kennedy was taken out by Nicky Devlin in the 73rd minute, after sliding in with his studs on a 50/50 ball.  He caught Kennedy, who required treatment, but was able to continue.

Bruce Anderson who came on for Matty had an injury time effort that could have sealed the points for the Dons.  However, his free header in front of goal went wide.

We go again against Livingston midweek at Pittodrie and hope for a better outcome to move clear of Hibs and catch up with a flailing Celtic.
