Aberdeen suffered a five goal humiliation against The Rangers in Glasgow on Saturday afternoon, after the home side comfortably won 5-0.
Derek McInnes made two changes to the team that ran-out midweek in the Scottish League Cup loss against Hearts.
Andrew Considine was ruled out of the game due to a bug, James Wilson is out with a knee injury and Zak Vyner and Niall McGinn made starts on their behalf.
Connor McLennan did recover from a dead leg he suffered at Tynecastle to make this match.
With eight players out due to injury we were up against it from the get-go.
And it didn’t take long for the home side to get their opener which was gifted by Zak Vyner after a poor challenge on Alfredo Morelos from the Dons defender. James Tavernier scored the first of his penalties.
Five minutes before the end of the first half, Greg Stewart was on target after Joe Lewis initially managed to tip Scott Arfield Header onto the post only for the ball to fall in front of Stewart who fired the shot home.
Into the second half and Alfredo Morelos put The Rangers further ahead, after he headed Borna Barisic’s cross past Joe Lewis from close range.
We conceded another penalty after Greg Leigh pulled down Greg Stewart in the box and James Tavernier scored his second penalty of the day to put the Dons 4-0 down.
Sub Jermain Defoe added the fifth of the day after a lobbed shot went past Joe Lewis to round off a hellish day.
The Red Army aren’t happy, with the Twitterati calling for McInnes to go:
