Recap

Aberdeen secured their fourth straight victory in a row in eleven days to move up to fourth in the Scottish Premiership.

The Dons put in a shift, but it was a nice watch with Lewis Ferguson scoring the solitary goal thanks to a penalty late in the first half to take all three points at Easter Road.

Derek McInnes made two changes to the side that played in the UEFA Europa League fixture against NSI Runavik on Thursday night.  Ryan Hedges made the starting XI and Tommie Hoban made the starting line-up.

Dylan McGeouch and Curtis Main were both dropped to the bench.

Joe Lewis nearly slipped up in the opening minute of the game after he spilled a cross from Joe Newell.

The ball fell to Martin Boyle, but didn’t put enough power in his shot, Lewis pushing the ball over the top left.

Shortly after, Joe saved the day again after saving a Boyle drive.

Moments later, Ryan Hedges had a low drive blocked by Marciano, in. neat one two between Scott Wright and him ripping open the Hibs defence.

Marley Watkins had a chance in the 33rd minute, firing a low shot from the edge of the penalty area, but the Hibs keeper managed to block it.

Aberdeen went ahead in the 39th minute, after Martin Boyle clipped Marley Watkins in the box, Nick Walsh awarded the penalty to the Dons.

Lewis Ferguson stepped up to take the shot and sent Marciano the wrong way to put the Dons ahead.

Into the second half, and Matty Kennedy fired into the penalty area but Marciano saved his shot.

Drey Wright threatened in the 61st minute, firing a shot across the face of the goal – but no one was there from the opposition to take the opportunity.

Curtin Main fired in a low drive on target in the 82nd minute, but Marciano got down to block the shot.

Christian Doidge met a corner kick at the back post in injury time, but headed the shot wide.

A great all round team, entertaining and strong performance from Aberdeen as we head into the international break.   If it continues like this, the Red Army have a lot to look forward to this season.
