Recap

Lewis Ferguson and Scott Wright were on target to take the 2-1 win against Livingston at Pittodrie.

It’s the second win of the week, that sees the Dons move up to seventh in the Scottish Premiership.

Marley Watkins was handed his debut for the club after signing on loan just 24 hours earlier.

There was a sub swap before the match started, with Craig Bryson being swapped for Curtis Main.  Bruce Anderson was also on the bench.

The other changes to the starting line-up were Shay Logan, Ryan Hedges, Matty Kennedy and Scott McKenna all making starts.

It was Livingston that created the first chance in the seventh minute, with Alan Forrest played clean through on goal, but Shay Logan did well and slid in to dispossess him with a fine tackle.

Jonny Hayes shot in the 13th minute weas deflected wide by Nicky Devlin and went out for a corner.

Matty Kennedy crossed along the face of goal to find Lewis Ferguson in the 20th minute, but the midfielder’s effort went straight to Robby McCrorie.

In the 34th minute Joe Lewis made a block to deny Scott Robinson from a poor Matty Kennedy touch.

Steven McLean awarded Aberdeen a penalty in the 48th minute when Lewis Ferguson was brought down in the box by Craig Sibbald.  Ferguson took the spot kick and fired it into the top left corner.

Aberdeen scored a second when Scott Wright played a neat one-two with Ryan Hedges that tore appart the Livi defence.

Hedges’ touch picked out Wright and he delivered a magnificent right footed finish.

Marley Watkins was denied a debut goal after two quick-fire saves from Livi’s MCCrorie in the 67th minute.

First he picked up the cross from Ojo, but his shot was saved by McCrorie and shortly after he met a Hayes cross at the back post and his header was also blocked by the keeper.

Livingston pulled one back in the 69th minute when Jack Fitzwater went past Matty Kennedy and Jonny Hayes to fire a low cross shot along the face of goal, that was picked up by Scott Pittman was fired it home from close range.

Six points in four days is an encouraging start, as the games keep piling on, with our next encounter against NSI Runavik on Thursday for our UEFA Europa League first round qualifier at Pittodrie.
