Recap

It wasn’t the warmest of occasions at Pittodrie, it was cold, wet and windy and the performance on the park was a tad damp too as Aberdeen continue their winless home run against Livingston.

Derek McInnes made two changes to the starting line-up.

Mikey Devlin came in for the absence of Andy Considine, partnering Scott McKenna.  Sam Cosgrove returned from suspension, with Dean Campbell on the bench.

The very early stages of this match started promising, Dominic Ball had a chance from a Niall McGinn corner in the second minute, but failed to connect with his header.

Niall McGinn shortly after put the ball into the area, with a hit from captain, Graeme Shinnie – Liam Kelly managing to save the low ball.

From then on there wasn’t much happening, long balls from Aberdeen to May to chase just weren’t happening.

Scott McKenna headed another McGinn delivery high and wide of the target in the 24th minute after Graeme Shinnie was felled by Steve Lawson.

Thankfully, Niall McGinn and Connor McLennan combined for the opener on the half-hour.

McGinn set McLennan free on the right, crossing the ball, the initial cross blocked, but he receive it back and dinked the ball to the waiting Niall McGinn who shot the ball past Kelly.

Sam Cosgrove nearly added to his goal tally, on 41 minutes, his side footed-volley from Max Lowe’s penalty spot delivery went wide.

And in an unfortunate turn of events just before half time, Livingston equalised.  Craig Sibbald tapped in on the line after a Halkett ball into the Dons area beat everyone.

Half time – Aberdeen 1 v Livingston 1

Not long after the restart, Livingston thought they were in front after a Keaghan Jacob’s corner was headed in past Lewis – the flag was raised however.

The second half continued to be a turgid affair, with neither side not making really anything of it, no doubt the weather not helping either.

The only real chance of the second half came in injury time, with sub Greg Stewart firing wide of the left post from 18 yards.

It ended all square, as the Dons fail to find that elusive winning form at home as we head into the international break.
