Recap
Derek McInnes used the same starting line-up that won 2-1 against St Mirren on Saturday in this dominating encounter against Dundee at Pittodrie this evening to take our biggest win of the season so far.
The Dons were in full control from start to finish, with Sam Cosgrove opened the scoring in the 16th minutes when Stevie May had a shot inside the area blocked, the ball rebounded to Connor McLennan and another cross from the right was met by Sam, who headed his fifth goal of the season, and third goal in three matches.
Sam scored again just before the end of the first half after Lewis Ferguson slid a pass to Cosgrove, and the striker broke into the box and put it through Hamilton’s legs to make it 2-0.
It didn’t get any better for Dundee in the second half, this time it was Andy Considine to take the honours, after he headed in a Niall McGinn corner from the right into the bottom left corner of the net.
Five minutes later Connor McLennan joined in the score-fest to volley into the net with McGinn provider again, overlapping May on the left and crossed to McLennan to finish off the move with a goal.
The only blip of the night was when Calvin Miller lashed home a left-footed shot past Joe Lewis from the edge of the box, making it 4-1.
That was not to put off the Dons however, with Andy back on the scoresheet to make it 5-1 after his initial effort got blocked on the line before his second shot went high into the Dundee goal.
And making a return to the field, Chris Forrester came on for the final 12 minutes for Man of the Match, Sam Cosgrove, the subs first appearance since 6 October 2018.
All in all the impressive run of form continues through September, which puts us only 1 point off top spot in the Scottish Premiership.
