Recap

Celtic and Aberdeen fought out a 0-0 draw for the first time since Boxing Day 1994 and Joe Lewis earned his 50th clean sheet as an Aberdeen player, in this encounter at Celtic Park.

The first half was a lacklustre affair, but the Dons stepped up their second half performance with the introduction of young Dean Campbell, who provided some much needed impetus for Aberdeen.

Derek McInnes made one change to the side that drew with The Rangers in the Scottish Cup at Pittodrie last weekend, with James Wilson replacing the injured Gary Mackay-Steven.

Celtic held the possession in the early stages of the game, but not forcing Joe Lewis into any meaningful saves, albeit Joe nearly made a mistake after Oliver Burke charged down a clearance which subsequently went out for a goal-kick.

Aberdeen were happy to play on the counter-attack but really struggled to get any sort of break, and when they did have any chance of going forward, passes were going awry.

There were two changes for the home team at half time with Ewan Henderson and Scott Sinclair going off, being replaced by Mikey Johnstone and Odsonne Edouard. James Wilson was taken off in favour of Dean Campbell.

Finally, our first shot on target came from Dom Ball, early in the second-half after he picked up a ball from Greg Stewart, and had a low strike kicked away by Scott Bain.

Sam Cosgrove had a chance, with an angled shot across goal in the 76th minute, he was aiming for Greg Stewart at the back post, but Jeremy Toljan dealt with it and put it out for a corner.

As the game was coming to a close, Johnston had a couple of chances, with a shot across goal and the other going wide.

The Dons made a couple of late changes with Greg Stewart going off in the 88th minute for Stevie May and Ethan Ross making his first team Dons debut in injury time for Connor McLennan.

It was a frantic closing stages for the Dons, but we held out for the deserved draw, keeping us third in the Scottish Premiership.
