Scotland’s World Cup Journey Takes Shape: Boston, Boston… then Brazil in Miami

Scotland now know the venues and kick-off times for our historic return to the FIFA World Cup next summer, with Steve Clarke’s men set for a demanding but mouth-watering Group C schedule across the United States.

At a confirmation event in Washington DC, it was revealed that we will open our campaign with two matches in Boston before rounding off the group stage in Miami against five-time world champions Brazil.

We begin our first World Cup since 1998 against Haiti at Gillette Stadium in the early hours of 14 June, with kick-off set for 02:00 BST. Haiti return to the finals for the first time in 52 years, adding further intrigue to the group opener.

Clarke’s side remain in Massachusetts for their second fixture, taking on Morocco — semi-finalists at Qatar 2022 — on 19 June at 23:00 BST. The last competitive meeting between the nations came in France ’98, when Scotland fell to a 3-0 defeat, and this encounter offers a chance to rewrite that particular chapter.

The final group match is the glamour tie. Scotland travel to Miami’s Hard Rock Stadium on 24 June for an 23:00 BSTshowdown with Brazil, now led by Carlo Ancelotti and still chasing a record-extending sixth world title. The Seleção face Morocco in New York on 13 June and Haiti in Philadelphia on 20 June as part of their own group schedule, while Morocco and Haiti meet in Atlanta on 24 June.

For Scotland, the stage is set: three iconic American venues, three distinct challenges, and a long-awaited return to football’s biggest tournament.

Full focus now turns to preparation — and to a summer where the Tartan Army will once again follow their team on the world stage.
