Rail Services

ScotRail is providing an emergency rail service as part of the national effort to deal with the current public health crisis.

As part of an industry-wide response, ScotRail are running a reduced service for essential journeys, for key workers such as NHS staff, emergency worked and carers.

There will be further reduced services from 30 March 2020 – these are details below:

Glasgow Queest Street / Edinburgh - Inverness

The following services will operate:

GLASGOW QUEEN STREET TO INVERNESS

  • 0707, then two-hourly until 1806
  • No Edinburgh services to Inverness

INVERNESS TO EDINBURGH / GLASGOW QUEEN STREET

  • 0648, then two-hourly until 1727 to Glasgow Queen Street and 1853 to Edinburgh

Glasgow Queen Street / Edinburgh to Aberdeen

The following services will operate:

ABERDEEN TO GLASGOW QUEEN STREET

  • 0731, then two-hourly until 1830

GLASGOW QUEEN STREET TO ABERDEEN

  • 0741, then two-hourly until 1841
  • 0702 Perth to Aberdeen and 1938 Glasgow Queen Street to Perth run additionally

ABERDEEN TO EDINBURGH

  • 0707, then two-hourly untill 1916
  • 2125 Aberdeent to Dundee runs additionally

EDINBURGH TO ABERDEEN

  • 0730, then two-hourly until 1736
  • 0539 Dundee to Inverness via Aberdeen, 0650 Dundee to Aberdeen and 1934 Edinburgh to Dundee run additionally

Inverness - Kyle of Lochalsh / Wick and Thurso

A reduced timetable is in operation as follows:

WICK TO INVERNESS

  • 0618 and 1234 services will run only
  • 0626 Lairg to Inverness and 1928 Ardgay to Inverness run additionally

INVERNESS TO WICK

  • 0700 and 1400 services will run only
  • 1712 Inverness to Ardgay runs additionally

KYLE OF LOCHALSH TO INVERNESS

  • 0611 and 1346 services will run only

INVERNESS TO KYLE OF LOCHALSH

  • 1056 and 1754 services will run only

Aberdeen - Inverness

Services operate to a broadly normal timetable.  The first trains are:

  • 0622 Aberdeen to Inverness
  • 0601 Inverness to Aberdeen
  • 0729 Elgin to Inverness
  • 0748 Huntly to Inverness
  • 0720 Inverurie to Aberdeen

The last trains are:

  • 1822 Aberdeen to Inverness
  • 1814 Inverness to Aberdeen
  • 1902 Inverness to Elgin
  • 1655 Aberdeen to Inverurie

Glasgow Queen Street - Oban / Fort William and Mallaig

Trains operate on a reduced timetable as follows:

GLASGOW QUEEN STREET TO OBAN

  • 0823, 1224 and 1823 services run only
  • 0751 and 1705 Dalmally to Oban run additionally

OBAN TO GLASGOW QUEEN STREET

  • 0857, 1441 and 1811 services run only
  • 1611 Oban to Dalmally runs additionally

GLASGOW QUEEN STREET TO FORT WILLIAM AND MALLAIG

  • 0823 and 1223 services run only
  • 2020 Crianlarich to Mallaig runs additionally

MALLAIG AND FORT WILLIAM TO GLASGOW QUEEN STREET

  • 0603 and 1605 services run only
  • 1815 Mallaig to Fort William runs additionally
