Kevin MacIver

Aberdeen’s Finance Director Appointed To AFC Board

Aberdeen FC have appointed Kevin MacIver, our Finance Director to the Board of Directors.

Kevin has been involved in the Cormack Park project and in the change of status from a public to private company and the US investment in the Club.

On the appointment, chairman Dave Cormack said:  “I’m pleased to announce that, following the Board’s unanimous decision to appoint Kevin as a director of Aberdeen Football Club, he has formally accepted.

“His appointment to the Board recognises the significant contribution he has made to the Club in the last two years and the vital role he plays in bringing both a hands-on and strategic approach to our finances, human resources and systems. In recent months, with the severe financial repercussions of the suspension of football, he has provided the board with sound financial modelling and scenario planning which are enabling us to make well-informed decisions.

“We have a much leaner, but exceptionally strong executive team in place, that is ably supported by a small but incredibly hard-working and capable management team. Their commitment, enthusiasm and passion for the Club, particularly in recent months, have been inspiring and infectious.

“It’s important that the fans know the Club is in good hands with people who are, not only experienced and knowledgeable, but deliver in an efficient and committed way that gives the Club best value.”

Kevin added:  “I’m thrilled and honoured to have been invited to join the board. The last few months have been difficult for the Club financially. Before the impact of the pandemic hit, the Club was in a financially robust position but we are now dealing with an unprecedented set of circumstances. I have no doubt that the Club, with the support of its investors, staff and the fans, will get through this.

“I’m privileged to work alongside an inspirational board and amazing team of exceptionally talented and motivated colleagues as we tackle these challenges together.

“The love for AFC runs in our family with my late father-in-law lucky enough to have been in Gothenburg and my two sons Dons daft!”

The AFC Board comprises chairman – Dave Cormack, Stewart Milne, Gordon Buchan, Tom Crotty, Darren Eales and Robert Wicks, the Club’s commercial director.
