Aberdeen Will Play European Qualifers With No Fans

Aberdeen will be playing their 2020/21 UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds as single leg ties behind closed doors.

UEFA says the decision is for “reasons of sporting fairness.”

The 2019/20 UEFA Europa League is due to be played to a finish, with the final due to be played in Cologne on 21 August 2020.

Just a week later the 2020/21 season of the UEFA Europa League is due to start, Aberdeen are expected to enter the first qualifying round on 27 August 2020.

The future qualifying rounds will take place on:

  • 17 September 2020 – Second qualifying round;
  • 24 September 2020 – Third qualifying round;
  • 1 October 2020 – Play-offs

The group stage draws will then take place in Athens on 2 October 2020, with the group stages getting underway from 22 October 2020.
