Sam Scores Dons Double in Dubai Friendly

Sam Cosgrove was back on scoring form again in our friendly against FC Dibba Al Hisn at the end of our winter training camp in Dubai.

Encouraging news was the return of Gary Mackay-Steven and Mark Reynolds from injury – both coming on as half-time subs.

Stevie May and Shay Logan were both out with injuries and although in training this week Tommie Hoban and Mikey Devlin were still recovering from their injuries and never made it into the squad for this friendly – but will no doubt feature soon for the Dons once the league restarts the week after next.

Aberdeen were in full control through out the match, and in the 39th minute Sam Cosgrove scored his first as the striker raced at goal and then fired at close range to score the opener.

Then shortly after the second half started, he scored his second thanks a pass from Mackay-Steven for him to fire home from 15 yards.

Cosgrove was denied a hat-trick in the closing moments of the game when his header was cleared off the line.

Lots to look forward too as we head into the Scottish Cup next Saturday against Stenhousemuir.
