End of an Era… After 21 years, We’re Closing

Yep, it’s been a hard decision but the Inverness Reds website will be closing after 21 years on 31 January 2021.

It’s been a difficult decision, but with ever increasing costs we can no longer support the running of the website.

As a supporters club, we were never in the business of making a profit, and much of the cost of running the website has been borne by its members.  Uniquely we haven’t run adverts on the wesbite, as we know these are annoying -but balancing up all operating costs we’ve taken the decision to close the website.

We’ll still be on Facebook and Twitter, and the AFC DONScast will still be available on all podcast platforms.  And of course the Inverness Reds supporters club is still here!

When we started in 1999:

  • We were under the managemnet of Ebbe Skovdahl;
  • Ended the season 10th in the league;
  • Reached (but lost) in the finals of the League Cup (v Celtic) and Scottish Cup (v Rangers);
  • Qualified for the UEFA Cup qualifying round for the following season;
  • Our highest home attendance was against Inverness Caley Thistle (18,451 on 29 Feb 2000);
  • Our average home attendance was 12,809;
  • Arild Stavrum was our top goal-scorer in all competitions (12 goals);

A lot has happened through the intervening years, and there certainly was a lot of highs, but also a lot of lows.

We can only but thank you for your support over the years, it has been very much appreciated and thank you for sticking by us.

Till next time….

Stand Free.
