Dave Cormack Hits Out At Sky Sports On Aberdeen v Celtic Coverage
Aberdeen Chief Executive, Dave Cormack has blasted Sky Sports on their promo coverage for the Aberdeen v Celtic match on Sunday.
Sky Sports released a promo clip on social media ahead of the fixture at the weekend.
The tweet captioned ‘A game which always delivers’ was accompanied by a video of 22 goals scored by Celtic at Pittodrie in recent years.
Aberdeen have scored four goals at home against the Glasgow side over the past two seasons, but none were included in their coverage.
And to top it all off, the SPFL broadcaster mis-spelt Aberdeen as ‘Abderdeen’.
Dave Cormack responded with a message on Twitter, “Really disappointed at Sky. To spend all week creating a one-sided promo that tries to humiliate any club goes against Sky’s commitment to help promote & grow the SPFL. Thanks for the motivation & for showing our 3 goals today! BTW team name is spelt ABERDEEN! Apology on its way?”

Fans across Scottish football were equally angered by the broadcasters approach to Scottish football.
It’s long past time for the Scottish and UK media to start showing respect to the non old firm clubs in the SPFL. They’re partly responsible for the devaluation of the product. https://t.co/agfZw0106U

Yes, Yes and Yes. Time to take a stand against Sky’s approach. Last 15 mins of the post-match chat also talked only about Celtic, their problems and their upcoming fixtures.

Since when have Sky ever cared about Scottish Football? It’s no more than a schedule filler.

They are an absolute joke @ScotlandSky . All about the old firm ?? glad I dont play for it. Wish BT sports got the rights they were so much better and recognised there were 12 teams in the league and not 2
