Aberdeen Players Test Positive For Coronavirus

Two Aberdeen players have tested positive for coronavirus.

The positive cases comes after Aberdeen City has been placed on a local lockdown due to a local cluster of coronavirus cases.

The players are self-isolating after receiving the test results and it is understood no other players have tested positive.

Several Aberdeen FC players reportedly visited city centre hotspots over the weekend, sparking fears at the club.

Aberdeen have cancelled training today with immediate effect.

The club are understood to be exploring whether the players who have tested positive for coronavirus may have breached return to training protocols.

A club spokesperson told the PA news agency that the club are waiting on further guidance from the Scottish Government and the joint response group.
