Sky Sports and BT Sport To End Subscription ‘Pause’
With the English Premier League due to restart on 17 June 2020, Sky will end the subscription pause for Sky Sports customers.
Sky will show 64 live Premier League games and 25 of those will be made available free-to-air on Sky’s Pick channel which is also available on Freeview, these will also be simulcast on Sky Sports.
Sky Sports subscriptions will restart automatically from Friday 19 June 2020.
Meanwhile BT is to show 20 live Premier League games.
BT are offering customers a further bill credit to the value of 50% off their BT Sport monthly subscription for June, with the expectation full subscription charges will commence from July 2020.
Customers who have already applied for BT Sport bill credit don’t need to do anything, as the company will apply the additional 50% credit automatically. Customers who opted for their additional credit to be donated will have it automatically sent to the NHS Charities Together Covid-19 Urgent Appeal.
Those who wish to apply for their 50% bill credit will be able to do so from Monday, June 1 via BT’s official website.
If you’re not a BT customer and want to take advantage of this offer, you can sign up for Premier League, Bundesliga and UFC subscription packages.
The BBC will show four Premier League matches free-to-air. It’s the first time since the Premier League’s inception in 1992 that games will be shown live by the BBC.
This means all 92 remaining Premier League games, which will be played behind closed doors, will be available to view free or on pay tv.
The SFA and SPFL have asked the Scottish Government to start the new 20/21 season behind closed doors games from 1 August 2020 (the original scheduled start date for the new season). Currently there has been no details released how SPFL matches will be broadcast.
