Scottish Football To Continue Under New COVID-19 Lockdown

Scottish football will continue under the new tougher COVID-19 lockdown rules announced today (4 January 2021).

First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon has announced new measures across mainland Scotland, similar to the lockdown in March last year that will take effect from midnight tonight – which effectively reinforces the stay at home message.

The official guidance allows full-time sides to continue playing, stating an exception will be made: “for those involved in professional sports, for training, coaching or competing in an event.”

The Scottish FA has said it will liaise with the Scottish government regarding the impact on football at grassroots level.
