Miko Virtanen Joins Hamilton

Aberdeen Football Club have confirmed that Miko Virtanen has left the Dons and has joined Hamilton Academical on a permanent deal.

The Finnish midfielder has signed a two-year deal with Hamilton.

Miko signed a two year deal with the Dons in 2019 having impressed for the development side following his departure from Everton’s Youth Academy.

He made his first team debut for the Dons against Motherwell in January this year, coming on as a sub in our 2-0 win, and was also a sub in our 1-0 win against Kilmarnock.

Miko spent the 2019/20 season on loan to Arbroath, and was named their Young Player of the Year. He re-joined Arbroath for the first part of the 2020/21 season and returned to Pittodrie at the start of 2021 having signed a new one-year deal.
