Lewis Ferguson Scores Late Goal Against Falkirk

Lewis Ferguson opened his scoring credentials with the Dons with a late winner this evening at Gayfield Park against Falkirk, as the Dons secured a 1-0 win in their second pre-season friendly.

Two players who missed the opening match against Cobh Ramblers on Sunday, made their first appearances of the new campaign, Stevie May and Sam Cosgrove.  May came off for the second half and was replaced by Chris Forrester and Cosgrove was replaced by Adam Rooney late on in the game.

Stephen Gleeson also made his first start for the Dons.

There was little between the teams, however with Gary Mackay-Steven having the early chance forcing Leo Fasan into a diving stop from 25 yards.

Joe Lewis made a couple of good stops in the first and second half  – clearing a Daniel Turner low strike and a close effort from Thomas Robson respectively.

And in the final minutes of the match Ferguson made the breakthrough for the Dons with a touch home from close range.

The Dons next meet St Johnstone this Sunday for the Chris Millar Testimonial in Perth – kick-off 2pm.
