The historic Merkland Road Gates at Pittodrie will find a home at the new Aberdeen FC Kingsford Stadium.
Project Director, Raymond Edgar has confirmed that it is the intention for the club to re-use the granite from the Merkland Road Gates at the new stadium, however the club can not say at this point what form this will be until the detailed design for Phase 2 of the project begins, which will cover the stadium and memorial garden.
Once the training facilities are underway, later this year, detailed design of Phase 2 of the project will look at utilising all or some of the granite gate features.
