Hayden Coulson signs new two-year Middlesbrough contract

Hayden Coulson has signed a new two-year deal at Middlesbrough, with an option for a further year included in the deal.

The defender is currently on loan at Aberdeen until the end of the season, the news unfortunately would suggest any extension of his time at Aberdeen is unlikely.

Boro Manager, Michael Carrick along with Jonathan Woodgate has given Coulson the opportunity to re-establish himself on Teeside following his impressive loan-spell at Aberdeen.

Coulson recently said : “Woodgate is now back at Middlesbrough as a coach, which is good. I thoroughly enjoyed having him as my manager a few years ago. The club has been good at keeping in touch, we’ve spoken throughout this loan spell. After games, they do a little record and stuff like that.

“Can I get back to that level? Definitely. I think it’s everyone’s ambition to go to the Premier League. There’s maybe a time slot in which you can do it but in my case, I’d say there’s plenty of time left. I came here to play regular football, to get myself confident again – and I think I’ve done that.”
