Greg Leigh Signs On Loan From NAC Breda

Aberdeen have confirmed the loan signing of left back Greg Leigh on loan from Eredivisie side NAC Breda and has flown out to Cork to meet up with the team at their pre-season training camp.

Greg has played for a number of English sides, coming through the Manchester City Academy before signing for Crewe Alexandra on loan in August 2014, signing to Bradford City in August 2015 before moving to Bury in 2016 making 100 appearances for them.

A move to the Netherlands then followed to play for NAC Breda.

There is an option to make the move permanent on conclusion of the 2019/20 season.

Derek McInnes told the club website:  “We’ve been aware of Greg for a while and, in January, when it looked as though Max was staying at Derby, he was someone we were quite far down the road with.

“He’s versatile, gives us a bit of athleticism, has decent experience for someone with his best years ahead of him and he sees Aberdeen as the right move at this stage.

“There were a number of clubs in England keen to take Greg, but I felt he bought into what we’re trying to do early on in our conversations.”
