Dutch Goalkeeper Kelle Roos Signs For Aberdeen

The signings have been coming thick and fast this week, and they don’t stop at the weekend with the signing of Dutch goalkeeper, Kelle Roos, who joins the Dons from Derby County.

Kelle has signed a pre-contract on a two-year deal having made 100 appearances for Derby.

A products of the PSV Eindhoven academy, he had a spell at Nuneaton Borough before signing for Derby County in 2014.

He has had a number of loan spells at Rotherham Utd, AFC Wimbledon, Bristol Rovers, Port Vale and Plymouth Argyle.

Kelle made his debut with Derby County in January 2019, making 24 appearances under Frank Lampard’s team, reaching the Championship play-off final at Wembley.

He made 16 appearance for Wayne Rooney in 2020/21 whilst in competition for the no.1 spot with David Marshall and 18 appearances last season.

Jim Goodwin is delighted at the signing, “Kelle brings with him a wealth of experience and he will help to enhance the goalkeeping team we have at the Club.

“It’s vital we add quality to the squad this season so we’ve taken the time to identify the correct players with the attributes we feel will have a positive impact. Having played a significant number of games in the English Championship, Kelle ticks all those boxes for us.

“He is a very confident character and I’m sure he will be a popular addition to the dressing room.”
