Curtis Main

Curtis Is The Main Attraction For Dons

The signing spree continues as Aberdeen FC announced this afternoon the signing of former Motherwell striker, Curtis Main on a two-year deal.

Main has spent 18 months at Fir Park and was out of contract, having scored 14 goals, although only six were during the past season.

Curtis commented on the club website: “I’ve been waiting a little while to get things done so now that it’s done I’m really excited.

“I’m excited by the challenge and by the different aspect of playing for Aberdeen. Obviously European football is a big draw and it’s a big club, one that I am excited to join. So now I am here I am looking forward to getting started.

“I’ve enjoyed playing in the league and I’m pleased to move on to such a good club like Aberdeen. I just hope I can bring success to the club.

“Overall, the league is quite competitive, and the style of football seems to suit me and suit my personality. I’ve enjoyed since I’ve been here so rather than move out of it I’ve decided to stay in it.

“I would love to get my hands on some silverware and I’m sure the club has ambitions to do so as well so we’ll all be striving for that.

“I’ve really enjoyed playing against them and looking forward to playing with them now”

“I felt in the previous season that I’ve definitely been more of a leader in the dressing room and hopefully I’ve been able to help some of the younger players in their transition from reserve football into first team football. A lot of them have done very well down there [at Motherwell] so hopefully I was a positive influence and hopefully I can be the same here.

“Excited to see him [Barry Robson] on the training field and see what he brings as a coach. I worked with him as a player [at Middlesbrough] and I know what he was like then and I can’t imagine he’s too different but I’m sure it will be good to work with him.

“I know we are expecting to move in later in the year [to the training ground] so that’s something to look forward to. Down the road at Middlesbrough it was a really good setup. The facilities were brilliant, everything you would need as a professional to maintain your standards. So, I’m looking forward to that later on in the year.

“Can’t wait to get started- just looking forward to the start of the season now! I’m fit and ready to go and looking forward to it.”
