BT and Sky Deal – Testing Underway

The deal between BT and Sky announced two years ago that would give customers of each company access to their rival’s TV channels has had a bit of movement this month.

Testing the integration of channels between the two platforms is now underway ahead of an official launch in early 2020.

A small number of BT customers have been selected as trialists who will get access to the full NOW TV service on their BT Youview boxes, enabling them full access to Sky’s entertainment and sports channels.  Sky Cinema is already included on BT TV.  It is also expected that you will be able to record these channels but this will be only available if you pay for NOW TV via BT.

And in reverse, a small number of Sky customers have been given access to BT Sport via satellite as part of the same deal.  Sky will market BT Sport directly, with Sky Customer Service able to add, remove and bill the channels directly as part of your Sky TV package, so all your services will be billed by Sky.

We’re expecting to find out more about pricing for the services shortly.
