Aberdeen FC Increase Cost For RedTV Subscribers

Aberdeen have this afternoon announced that the cost of RedTV will increase for all subscribers.

The increase is as a result of the investment being made in the RedTV platform and means annual subscriptions for international subscribers will increase to £149.99 and £73.99 for domestic subscribers.

GB and Ireland monthly cost will be £6.99 and for International monthly, £14.99.  (domestic subscribers do not include access to live match streams.  Audio commentary will be available for all matches for UK and Ireland subscribers).

Existing subscribers can add an additional year to their subscription at the current price until the 19th of July 2020. AberDNA Premium and International members will continue to benefit from a 20% discount on these prices.

“Our RedTV platform has given the Club a great foundation on which to build our content offering, allowing us to take more control of that content and ultimately provide a better, more personalised, service to fans both domestically and abroad,” said AFC Commercial Director, Rob Wicks.

“In the longer term we know there is uncertainty surrounding future growth in revenue from broadcasters, so football clubs need to look at strengthening their own OTT (over-the-top) media services offered directly to fans via the Internet,” he said.

“More immediately, we have also promised to deliver full value to our season ticket holders and enhancing RedTV will certainly contribute towards this goal,” he said.

“Getting ready for streaming games to be staged behind closed doors has given us a clear focus and plenty to think about. Working closely with industry experts, we plan to enhance our broadcasts with a match presenter, an exclusive pre-match show, engaging half time content and post-match analysis, all supported by enhanced new graphics and data. There’s also a refreshed website coming soon, and we’ll be bringing you further news about these exciting developments in the coming weeks!

“Longer term, we need to drive additional non-matchday content and so we are looking at the potential for RedTV studio facilities at both Pittodrie and Cormack Park which would make a tangible difference to what we can produce. These new facilities, together with the additional content represent a significant investment for the Club, but something that we feel is vitally important for fans both now and in the future.”
